By Brian Jacks

05.12.03

From the desk of CrossGen's Bill Rosemann:

If you've been intrigued by all the good reviews you've been reading about CrossGen books--or just crave cool Sci-Fi action-- consider SIGIL #36, our latest Key Issue, your gateway to some explosive adventure.

On sale May 14th, SIGIL #36 not only kicks off a new story arc, but also marks the debut of new ongoing penciler Dale Eaglesham! And if you thought some of the things he drew in Green Lantern were far out, wait'll you see what Dale, writer Chuck Dixon, inker Andrew Hennessy, and colorist Andrew Crossley have cooked up! As the following five preview pages reveal, the grizzled space soldier named Sam and his battle-tested crew aboard the starship Bitterluck are about to have a close encounter of the painful kind!

And while every single book we publish is created with accessibility in mind, and includes a mega-helpful "Previously..." page on the inside front cover, the Key Issue program takes a few extra steps to say "Hey, You! Come on in and join the party!"

Here's how Chuck described this issue's events to the fine folks at Comic Shop News: "For the most part it's a standalone story in which we present the entire cast together for an adventure. It's an event for regular readers, since Sam and the rest of the Bitterluck crew haven't been in one place for quite a while. So it serves as a perfect introduction as the characters catch up with one another. We also begin a brand new storyline here with a massive invasion from a mysterious and unstoppable force that threatens every living being in the universe. Never hurts to open big, huh?"
