News:
McKeever Offers Retailers Free Incentive
By Brian Jacks

02.13.03

Sean McKeever, the man behind the critically-acclaimed series, The Waiting Place, has released an open letter to retailers. In it, McKeever announces a special free incentive for comic shop proprieters to help drum up support for his upcoming Marvel series, Sentinel (announced here).

The letter now follows:

Dear comics retailers,

Soon you will be set with the task of putting together your new comics orders for April 2003. I recall vaguely what that was like back when I had my shop, and as much fun as it was in a way, I really don't envy you a bit.

The following is an offer to help you make your job a touch easier.

As I'm sure you're aware, one of the thousands of lines in the February catalog for April shipping is SENTINEL, a new Marvel series written by myself, with art by Udon. It's a teen fantasy/drama set in the backwoods of the Marvel Universe. If you'd like to know more about this series, I've set up a promotional site for the series, with links to news and interviews:

http://seanmckeever.com/sentinel

Now, how would you like a signed script of SENTINEL #1? Printed on quality stock and Velo bound, it makes for a nice giveaway or in-store bragging tool. Plus, I will do my best to get it in your hands before Thursday, March 13, the order cut-off date for this book. That way, you'll have read the story as it will appear on your shelves come April 2nd, and can better gauge potential demand.

To get a signed script, you may contact me either via the CBIA Forum, the ComicsMover.com Forum or via my website's contact form. Give me your name, store's name, address, phone number and e-mail address. You will not be added to any physical or electronic mailing lists.

My one request is that you not display the contents of the script or give it away until April 2nd or later, so that the book is already available.

As always, if you have any other specific promotions in mind, I'd be happy to hear them.

Thanks for all your support. Let's sell us some comics!

Sincerely,
Sean McKeever
