Digital Webbing describes the book this way: In "Shadows and Masks: Part One," electrically charged heroine Heidi searches for a body-jumping entity she first encounters at school. Sounds difficult enough – but when the body snatcher crashes a masquerade party, it’s a fright!
“You can imagine how difficult it would be to track down a creature who could be anybody at a costume party,” remarks writer/creator James Harris.
Artist Cal Slayton enjoyed creating the masquerade goers, he says. “It was fun to come up with different looks for all the partiers. I might have even thrown in some comic book references here and there.”
Shades of Blue is co-created by Rachel Nacion. Attracting a large female and teenage readership, the series originally debuted from Amp Comics in 1999.
Shades of Blue #1, by James S. Harris and Cal Slayton, hits store shelves in April. The book contains 24 pages with a full color cover and black-and-white interiors. It will retail for $2.95.
