Marvel Declares War
By Brian Jacks

The next 'ULTIMATE WAR' begins September 17th when Eisner and Wizard Fan award winning "Best Writer" Brian Michael Bendis teams with penciler Trevor Hairsine, special contributor Joe Quesada and cover artist John Cassaday for ULTIMATE SIX, a six-part limited series teaming Spider-Man and the Ultimates against the deadliest band of super-villains ever assembled in the Ultimate Universe.

The Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Electro, Kraven the Hunter, the Sandman and a final mystery member rounding this 'Sinister Six' have been taken prisoner by Nick Fury & S.H.I.E.L.D. Why have they been brought together? And more importantly - what happens when they escape? Captain America, Thor, Iron Man and the rest of the ULTIMATES prepare to bring them back into custody and thwart a horrific plan hatched in the mind of Norman Osborn, the Green Goblin. But where is Ultimate Spider-Man when the Ultimates need a hand?

"Last's December's Ultimate War and Brian Bendis' recent debut on ULTIMATE X-MEN (issue #34, teaming the X-Men with Spider-Man) were both quick sell-outs in stores and ignited even greater interest in the Ultimate Universe," said Marvel Marketing Communications Manager Michael Doran. "ULTIMATE SIX is certain to follow that same pattern and is already slated to be one of the top books of all of 2003."

ULTIMATE SIX #1, a special 40-page debut issue with a cover price of $2.99, goes on sale in comic book shops on 9/17. The second issue, a 32-page issue with a $2.25 cover price, goes on sale just a week later on 9/24.
